About Location

The T. D. Lee Institute is located in the Minhang campus of the Jiao Tong Shanghai University, a leading University and one of the oldest in China. The Institute is directed by the Nobel laureate Frank Wilczek, and it has been recently established with the ambition to become a focal point of international research in fundamental physics.

Shanghai is an exciting city which harmonises the memories of its imperial and colonial past (the Old Town and the Bund) in a vibrant city projected into the next millenium, as visualised by the skyline of the Pudong district in the east side of the Huangpu river. Downtown Shanghai, around People Square, offers enormous possibilities for shopping, dining and intellectual life, made easy to enjoy by a modern and efficient subway network. Climate at the end of June is pleasantly warm, ideal for sightseeing and for boat excursions on the Huangpu river.
